Dynamic Response of Deepwater Pile Foundation Bridge Piers under Current-wave and Earthquake Excitation

Pile foundation bridges are structures extending in the middle of sea, so they subject to currents, waves, and earthquake forces. This article presents a hybrid simulation that was used with input excitations different current velocities, wave properties, amplitudes assess non-linear dynamic behavior pile bridge piers. Based on interface between MATLAB ABAQUS software, general formulations fluid-structure interaction (FSI) under combined current-wave loads derived. Hydrodynamic loading is consistently introduced by creating synthetic time histories actions spatially variable ground motion. The model deepwater for Songhua River northeast China adopted as an example study. accuracy created verified using prior experimental analytical computations. It demonstrated how both linear nonlinear performs at various water depths coupled current-wave-earthquake conditions. Revealing interesting aspects, particularly terms relative displacement, acceleration, shear, moment response shown. results showed efficient simulating accurate predictions hydrodynamic pressure during coastal areas.
